Reminders:

  • Ÿ Mr. Kirk Adam, the Art teacher is asking for a sketch pad for each child . Please send one this week.

  • Ÿ Always visit our classroom blog @ http://kindergarten-andresneusecharter.blogspot.com/
  • Ÿ Read with your child nightly. Then ask Higher Order Thinking Skills questions. These will help your child think critically and will also help improve comprehension.

  • Ÿ Have your child practice reading the word list. We have been reading this in the classroom, too. Remember it is part of the first nine weeks assessment.

  • Ÿ Help your child with his/her homework everyday. You may find the daily HW activities in the white notebook.

Downtown Selma

News ! News! News!

  • The children had lots of fun when we walked to Downtown Selma and visited the fire station, dentist office , drugstore, post office, and the bank.
  • We did not go to the police station that day. On Friday, two police officers from Selma Police Station came to visit us . The children asked lots of questions . The officers gave each child a sticker.

Reminders:
  • Our library day is Tuesday. On this day, your child will take home a library book. Please send the book on Fridays to be returned to the library.
  • Permission slip for the Pumpkin Patch field trip is due on October 9th.
  • We are in need of volunteers for Guided Reading 10:30-11:00 Mon-Wed (1 volunteer), Literacy Stations Thur-Fri (2 volunteers) ; Math Stations 1:45-2:15 Tues-Frid.

  • Here are some of the things we need in our classroom: - small treats/toys for the treasure box
  • Since we will be learning about apples this week, please send one apple on Tuesday. You may send any of these: Red Delicious, Granny Smith, Fuji, Golden Delicious. Also if you could send any foods that are made from apples eg. apple sauce, cider, etc. we would appreciate it very much.
